Dear Prospective Client
Since starting business in 1981 we have consistently endeavored to provide furniture, millwork, cabinetry and architectural work of the highest caliber of workmanship in both detail and execution. Great attention is paid to the propriety of period specific details as well as ergonomic design and mechanical function of all moving features.
We are frequently commissioned to do work requiring bas-relief and in-the-round carving, turning, veneering, inlay and exotic finishes. Only durable, time proven techniques of fabrication and assembly are used in our work as our reputation rests on every piece we build. Additionally we offer a 10-year written guarantee against all defects in workmanship. This outlook applies toward all provision of the smooth, easy operating features incorporated into any given piece we build for you.
On both commercial and residential projects Sereg Custom Woodworks often collaborates with designers, architects and business executives in addition to knowledgeable homeowners but, for all of you that are new at this creative process we are at ease working from photos, sketches, and plans or, we can extract design concepts from your living and working environments. We are quite able to provide you with comprehensive designs incorporating your specific needs and likes in order to achieve the optimum configuration for YOU. Approximately 80% of what we build is completely and uniquely of our own design. We have broad experience in surmounting the many obstacles that present themselves during the course of any given commission.
We are excited about the work we do, and it is reflected in all of our work. A small bit of our portfolio is viewable online and is intended merely to give you an accurate if somewhat limited cross section and presentation of our work. References are available upon your request. Please don't hesitate to contact us with any needs you may have.
We design and create pieces drawing from many differing eras, styles and sub-styles of design e.g. Jacobean, William and Mary, Queen Ann, Georgian, Edwardian, Adams, Hepplewhite, Empire, Federal, Craftsman, Mission, Victorian Revival, Art Deco, Directoire, French Regency, Country, and Provincial just to name a few. That being said, it is important to note that when we undertake a job for you......the style reflected will be YOURS. This is one of the prime strengths we bring to any endeavour...our ability to express your esthetics and tastes.
Legs and posts of all periods and styles, doors of all types, moldings, wainscot, coffered and vaulted ceilings.....we make our own ( with the exception of certain molding patterns ). This allows us to guarantee all of our work with full confidence.
Embellishments such as carving, inlay, checkering, marquetry, tooled distressing, tooled leather tops, caning and rattan, goldleaf and ebonizing are frequently used in our work. Stained and etched glass in addition to special lighting are also part of what we have to offer.
Of course any design is incomplete without the proper finish and we are conversant with many styles and varieties of finish used both historically and contemporarily.
A variety of finishes are available. Anything from stain and lacquer – [many different types available to suit the demands of your project], to glazed, distressed, antiqued, frosted, hand rubbed, French polish, pickled, crackled, gilt, pearlescent, faux and Trompe L`oeil finishes..... All are in our repertoire of finish techniques.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank and acknowledge my brother Chris Sereg for his many years of dedicated effort, creativity, and expertise in working with me to create much of what is in this portfolio.
Please feel free to browse through the "Looking for Ideas" section of this website.....it is a small crossection of the body of our work for the previous 4 decades.
